Chair of Computer Science II
Programming Languages and Programming Methodology
The chair for Computer Science II represents the fields of programming languages and programming methodology in teaching, research, and applications.
Our working groups develop methods and tools for multimedia in teaching, document management and retrieval systems. There are often close relationships to techniques in compiler construction as well as transductions for mark-up languages for web-based presentations.
Other areas of interest include data compression (text, images, videos), visualization, graphical user interfaces, and combinatorial optimization. Object-oriented program design and scientific computing with interval arithmetic are active research and teaching areas.
